Individual Lessons    

The Bellarmine University Preparatory Music and Theater Program offers weekly private lessons taught by instructors who are specialists on their particular instrument/theater arts. Students enrolled in our program will learn in well-equipped teaching studios on Bellarmine's beautiful campus located in the Highlands area of Louisville. 


Lessons are offered on the following suggested schedule:

  • Beginner students: weekly 30-minute lessons

  • Intermediate students: weekly 45-minute lessons

  • Advanced students: weekly 60-minute lesson


Each session is 12-weeks in duration, and included in tuition is access to our practice rooms, both for individual and combo/ensemble practice.


Also included in the tuition is the yearly Spring Recital. Individual instructors will guide students toward this goal.


We offer individual instruction in the following areas, with ensemble/combo opportunities also available in jazz studies:

  • Keyboard: Piano, Organ, Accordion

  • Voice

  • Strings: Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass

  • Winds: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, SaxophoneBrass: Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba

  • Percussion: Set, Mallet, Orchestral, African Drumming

  • Jazz Studies: Piano, Guitar, Bass, Brass, Winds, Mallets, Set

  • MIDI/Technology

  • Celtic Flute/Whistle

  • Composition

  • Theater: Private coaching for the actor
